Cinéma Vérité to commemorate 2 documentarians

The 13th edition of the Cinéma Vérité, Iran’s major international documentary film festival, has scheduled to commemorate two veteran Iranian documentarians.

This edition of the event will honor Manouchehr Tayyab and Ahmad Zabeti-Jahromi.

Born in 1937, Tayyab is an acclaimed and award-winning Iranian documentarian, author and critic.

He has made and written several works on pottery, ceramic, rhythm, and architecture of Islamic Iran.

Born in 1951, Zabeti-Jahromi is an acclaimed and award-winning Iranian documentarian and editor.

He has written several books and articles on documentary as well as cinema and made a number of documentaries on immigration, sports, geography, music, and wildlife in Iran.

Organized by the Documentary and Experimental Film Center, the first edition of the Cinéma Vérité was held in 2007.

Over the past decade it has emerged as one of the important events on Iran's documentary film calendar.

The 13th edition of the Cinéma Vérité will be held on December 9-16, 2019.
